About Jerry

Jerry’s professional life began in engineering and continued through military and civilian service. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Military Institute in 1972 and worked in Department of Defense program management. He retired from civil service in 2005 after receiving the Secretary of the Army Distinguished Civilian Service Award.

He later taught Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry in Virginia and Maryland and became the first Facilities Engineer at Ocean Pines Association. His work in teaching, counseling, and pastoring eventually grew into more than 30 years of ministry. His faith journey moved from Catholic roots through different Christian traditions to becoming a licensed and ordained IPHC minister. He earned an M.A. in Religion and Counseling from Liberty University and pastored a church from 1999 to 2006.

Jerry’s first book, The Evidence of Things Unseen, tells the story of his faith evolving from his Catholic roots to becoming a Pentecostal preacher.

Through his books and the Faith for the Times website, Jerry continues to write about faith, culture, public life, and the experiences that have shaped his understanding of them.
